Every successful business has to adapt and change as the business operating environment changes.
OffTech Computing began in 1994 as a software developer using Microsoft developer tools and products, initially for desktop computers.
The company also supplied small desktop computers to its clients.
Then along came the Internet
One of our most successful products during the early 2000’s was the search engine and Internet directory, SearchSA. This was a dominant product for more than ten years in the Internet search space until its eventual closure in 2015 when the giant international search engines began to dominate search, heavily funded by business advertising.
Our move into steel shed design
In 2003, in response to significant local political changes in South Australia, OffTech became involved in the development of software for the analysis and design of cold formed steel sheds. Initially written for high-end desktop computers, this significant software product has progressed from the desktop into an Internet-based environment and continues to be used by shed manufacturers around Australia and in New Zealand.
Now we’ve added computer-assisted music composition and production
In 2016, OffTech moved once again, this time into the music composition space, using computer-assisted technologies to create and produce music for Internet streaming and for airplay on community radio throughout Australia, subscribing to the AMRAP program. The creation software we chose after an extensive search was from the European company Avid; the software was Sibelius, a scoring and annotation program well known and respected across the global music industry. In 2021, we added the Avid production software called ProTools to enable us to get professional quality results from the outputs created within the Sibelius program.
